Dublin ferry breaks could prove a popular option among classical music fans next month, particularly those with a soft spot for the work of George Frideric Handel.
The 2010 Handel Festival will take place at various venues in Ireland's capital from April 13th to 18th.
It is held every year to highlight the connections that exist between Handel and the city of Dublin.
People who would like to be part of the 2010 festival can take
ferries from Liverpool to Dublin with
Norfolkline Irish Sea or
P&O Ferries.
One of the highlights of the programme is In Handel's Day, an opening ceremony scheduled for April 13th this year which celebrates the fact that Handel's Messiah had its world premiere in Temple Bar in 1742.
Visitors will be taken on a musical journey that encompasses everything from the Baroque era to traditional Irish songs.
Holidaymakers can learn more about local culture and history by visiting the National Library of Ireland.
Another travel option for people planning to visit the destination this year is the Holyhead to Dublin ferry route, which is served by
Stena Line and
Irish Ferries.
