People who enjoy a good party might be interested in hopping on a ferry to Amsterdam in April to take part in the city's Queen's Day celebrations.
The occasion falls on April 30th every year and is a national holiday in The Netherlands.
Parties are held all over the country to celebrate the birthday of the country's queen, with the capital providing the venue for the most elaborate and popular festivities.
Travellers can catch ferries to Amsterdam from Newcastle with
DFDS Seaways.
The company offers daily departures from the English port at 17:00.
Up to a million people throng the streets of Amsterdam for the Queen's Day celebrations, with parades, street theatre, live music, decorated boat displays on the canals and various other spectacles being arranged.
The party begins on April 29th, with events taking place in the evening and throughout the night to build up to Queen's Day itself.
People planning to take ferries to The Netherlands this year have the option of
Stena Line's Harwich to Hook of Holland ferry service.
Travellers can also take ferries to Rotterdam from Hull with
