Celebrate beer in beautiful Belgium |  | | | 06 August 2008 | No trip to Belgium would be complete without sampling what is arguably the country's tastiest export so visitors are urged to join in its International Hop and Beer Festival.
The event, held between the 19th and 21st September celebrates all things beer and takes place, somewhat unexpectedly, in the small town of Poperinge,West Flanders.
Beer enthusiasts will have plenty to entertain them at this fun-filled event and as well as enjoying the drinking, will be able to learn a bit more about the golden elixir.
The festival also invites visitors to attend lectures on the hop – which is used to brew the beer.
There will also be workshops, tastings and competitions throughout the festival which is only held once every three years.
Belgium beer is widely regarded as being some of the most varied and delicious on the planet and the country currently has around 125 working breweries. |
