Brits planning self-drive holidays to France this year may be interested to hear that a new mountain bike track being developed in Chamonix is progressing well.
The Compagnie du Mont Blanc said that the track from Les Posettes to Vallorcine is currently being created.
A number of obstacles and signposts are expected to follow shortly, reports Chamonet.com.
The track that is being created will be reserved specifically for mountain bikers, ensuring that people using the course will not come into contact with walkers or drivers.
Next summer is set to see the beginning of a project to create a major new park in Chamonix for mountain bikers.
Chamonix is a highly popular location for people taking self-drive ski holidays to France but offers a range of pursuits other than skiing and snowboarding.
Visitors can choose from activities such as hiking, mountaineering, rock climbing and even playing golf, should the weather allow it.
