Ferries to France will prove popular with music fans next month as the Vieilles Charrues festival comes to the province of Brittany.
Considered one of the biggest music festivals in Europe, the event will be held in the town of Carhaix-Plouguer from July 16th to 19th.
Music fans can travel on the Portsmouth to St Malo ferry route operated by
Brittany Ferries to attend the event or alternatively catch ferries to Le Havre with LD Lines.
Some of the biggest names in contemporary music will perform at the festival this year, with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band helping to kick off proceedings on July 16th and the Killers also appearing on the first day.
July 17th and 18th will see artists including Lenny Kravitz and Charlie Winston entertain the crowds at Vieilles Charrues, with Lily Allen, Moby and the Ting Tings bringing the festival to a close on the 19th.
Some 200,000 people are expected to visit Brittany for Vieilles Charrues this year, watching performances by a total of 80 bands over four days.
Travellers catching ferries to France for the festival will find Carhaix-Plouguer in the heart of the Finistere department in western Brittany.
