Col Pers 'Val d'Isere's best ski run' | | | | 13 November 2008 | People taking ski holidays in Val d'Isere should be sure to spend some time on the Col Pers run, according to a list of the top five skiing hotspots in the French resort.
Writing for the Daily Telegraph, Gabriella Le Breton states that Col Pers is suitable for skiers with off-piste experience and is located in Le Fornet, an area that boasts some "great off-piste terrain".
Second on the list of Val d'Isere's top runs is Solaise, which is considered a good location for beginners and intermediate skiers.
People taking ski holidays for the first time could also consider Grand Pre, which is described by Ms Le Breton as a "wide, open bowl" offering a number of pistes with green and blue difficulty ratings.
At the other end of the scale is the red run of Coupe du Monde OK at Rocher de Bellevarde, which should only be tried by experienced skiers owing to its steep gradient.
Seasoned winter sports enthusiasts can also visit Face de Bellevarde, a black piste, on their ski holidays, although this location may be closed for much of January 2009 as it is prepared to host the Alpine World Ski Championships. |
