Condor Ferries is aiming to improve the quality of its family services with the help of a mother and her three young children.
The company invited Michelle Leicester and her family to design an activity book that would appeal to younger passengers.
Full of games, puzzles and colouring competitions, the book is available to children sailing on
ferries from Portsmouth to St Malo and Cherbourg as well as
Condor Ferries' services to the Channel Islands from Portsmouth, Poole and Weymouth.
Ms Leicester, who works for the operator as a retail buyer, came up with the idea of an activity book while travelling on a
ferry to France for her family holiday over the summer.
The company has also launched a marine-themed lunchbox for kids and improved the facilities on offer in the children's TV lounge on its fast ferries.
Justin Amey, Condor Ferries' marketing manager, said: "Keeping youngsters occupied and entertained en route to your destination is always challenging.
"We think the combination of activity books, kids' lunchboxes and the new, improved children's TV lounge will go a long way to ensuring they - and their parents - have an even better travelling experience with us."
