Condor Ferries has kept the Channel Islands "well-supplied" during the recent bout of bad weather, with minimal disruption to the schedules of its Jersey and Guernsey ferry services.
The company described its links to the islands from Weymouth, Poole and Portsmouth as a "lifeline commitment" that proves particularly important during times of extreme weather.
Simon Edsall, managing director of
Condor Ferries, said the year-round sailings are vital for local people who need to travel to mainland France and the UK.
"Over the past week, parts of the UK mainland have probably become more isolated than the Channel Islands as roads and runways have been closed because of ice and heavy snowfall," he added.
"Freight and travel links to Jersey and Guernsey have continued throughout the recent exceptionally cold snap, with the services provided by Commodore Clipper and Commodore Goodwill unaffected."
People planning to travel to France from the Channel Islands can use the St Malo ferry services that
Condor Ferries provides from Guernsey and Jersey.
