Condor Ferries' freight and passenger ship Commodore Clipper returned to service between the UK and the Channel Islands over the weekend following a fire.
The incident occurred during a crossing from Jersey to Portsmouth on June 16th.
Repairs and refurbishments were carried out while the vessel was docked in Portsmouth and
Condor Ferries chartered the MV Arrow to ensure that schedules were maintained in the interim period.
Commodore Clipper sailed from the port on England's south coast on July 3rd and returned to local waters in the Channel Islands yesterday (July 5th).
Simon Edsall, managing director of Condor Ferries, said: "We have worked very hard to get Commodore Clipper ready for service again and I'd like to thank everyone involved for completing the repairs so quickly and having the ship back on the route in little more than a fortnight.
"Thanks to the effective use of the ship's drenching systems to control the fire and the fire fighting undertaken by both the crew and Hampshire Fire and Rescue Services, the damage to Clipper was minimised."
The company operates
ferries from Portsmouth to St Malo via Jersey and Guernsey, as well as direct services to the Channel Islands from Poole and Weymouth.
Travellers can also take ferries from Portsmouth to Cherbourg with both Condor Ferries and
Brittany Ferries.
