There are just a few days left for members of the public to nominate unsung heroes from their local area for the
Condor Ferries Community Award.
The final entry date is January 16th 2012, with people asked to put forward the names of organisations and individuals who have made a difference in Jersey.
Managing director of the ferry operator Simon Edsall said: "The Condor Ferries Community Award is all about recognising Jersey's unsung heroes - those people who work hard for other islanders."
He emphasised that there is a fantastic voluntary sector on the island, which involves the work of hundreds of people.
Earlier this month, Condor Ferries suspended its fast ferries from Weymouth to the Channel Islands due to high wind speeds.
The vessels were out of action on January 3rd and 4th 2012 amid safety concerns, although normal services continued throughout this period.
