Crafts of Brittany on show at Festival Saint-Simon

Crafts of Brittany on show at Festival Saint-Simon
Brits who like nothing more than to browse through markets selling arts and crafts will be able to hop on cheap ferries to Brittany in October for the Festival Saint-Simon.

This event will be held in the coastal town of Saint-Briac during the week of October 22nd-29th.

It has become so popular that around 15,000 people are thought to descend on Saint-Briac every year to browse the creations of local ceramicists, woodturners, fashion designers and many others.

In addition to the various arts and crafts on show, there are street musicians and performers throughout the marketplace who add to the festival atmosphere.

Another highlight of the Festival Saint-Simon is the food. Visitors will be able to sample traditional French fare such as cheese and snails as well as the local Breton gateau, a version of apple pie made with rum and butter from Brittany.

Brits planning ferry crossings to north-west France can sail to two main ports in Brittany – Roscoff and St Malo. Operators sailing to these locations include Brittany Ferries, Irish Ferries and Condor Ferries.
