Holidaymakers booking cheap ferries to Croatia can look forward to a "diverse Mediterranean experience" during their trip.
This is according to the Croatian National Tourist Office, whose director Meri Matesic said that the country offers tourists "great value for money".
"With short flight times from London and regional airports, Croatia offers a diverse Mediterranean holiday experience," she commented.
Ms Matesic was speaking after Thomson and First Choice named the country one of its top ten destinations for next year, with it being described as one of the "jewels" of the Balkan states.
Croatia is home to a number of cheap ferry operators, with these sailing to almost all of the country's inhabited Adriatic islands from the main ports during the summer.
For those thinking of venturing further afield,
Venezia Lines,
SNAV and
Blue Line operate ferries to Venice from Croatia, while Emilia Romagna provides cheap ferry services across the Adriatic Sea.
One of the most popular domestic routes is that between Dubrovnik and Rijeka, which calls at Zadar, Split, Hvar and Korcula en route.
Thomson and First Choice praised Croatia for its beautiful medieval cities, green forests and impressive landscape.
