Skiers and snowboarders booking cross channel ferries will not give up their sport because of the economic downturn.
This is according to Tim Holmes, organiser of the Metro Ski and Snowboard Show, who said that the "passion" that snowboarders and skiers show will override any financial concerns.
"It is not the first thing they will give up as a consequence of a slight economic misfortune," he commented.
"Everyone involved in skiing and snowboarding do it because it is a passion."
Mr Holmes went on to say that Alpine ski resorts are retaining their usual levels of interest because of their "atmosphere and alpine charm".
The
Dover to Calais ferry is one of the favoured routes to the Alps, with France's road network making resorts in the mountainous region easily accessible.
According to the Ski Club of Great Britain, France is continuing to dominate the UK snow sports market with 43 per cent of the market share.
This figure has remained broadly static since 2007-08.
