People planning cross channel ferry trips this year will have the chance to visit the city of Lille in France as it hosts events exploring some of Europe's most fascinating destinations.
From March 14th until July 12th, Lille's Palais des Beaux Arts will present an exhibition focusing on the Turkish city of Istanbul.
The display will explore the fact that Istanbul straddles the border between east and west, with an architectural and cultural heritage that contrasts with its modern role as a bustling urban centre and tourist destination.
Holidaymakers setting off on cross channel ferry journeys at the end of March will be able to visit Lille as it hosts a weekend dedicated to the city of Berlin between March 27th and 29th.
This event will include exhibitions of work by international artists, music concerts and screenings of masterpieces of German cinema from past and present.
Lille is located in north-east France, making it easily accessible for passengers on P&O Ferries and Seafrance ferry crossings from Dover to Calais or the Norfolkline service from Dover to Dunkerque.
Alternatively, holidaymakers can make use of the new LD Lines route from Dover to Boulogne, which will begin operating in February.
