DFDS Seaways Skips Helsingborg
As from October 15, DFDS Seaways will stop calling at Helsingborg on the run between Copenhagen and Oslo. The decision is based on a combination of high fuel prices, Swedish fairway dues and declining passenger numbers.
On top of that, the city council of Helsingborg demands that the main engines should be fitted with catalytic converters.
The two cruise ferries on the run, "Crown of Scandinavia" and "Pearl of Scandinavia"are already fitted with catalytic converters on the auxiliary engines to meet a demandfrom the ports of Copenhagen and Oslo, where the main engines are shut down after the arrival.
DFDS Seaways started to call Helsingborg after the inauguration of the "Queen of Scandinavia" in 1990, reports SSG.
