DFDS Seaways is currently celebrating its success at the European ceremony of the 2009 World Travel Awards, where it was named the leading long sea ferry operator.
This is the third year in a row that the company has received an accolade at the World Travel Awards.
Over 170,000 travel industry professionals voted for the awards this year, which were handed out at the Marriott Praia D'El Rey resort in Portugal.

DFDS Seaways provides ferries to Amsterdam from Newcastle and also operates a Harwich to Esbjerg ferry service.
P&O Ferries was named Europe's leading short sea operator at the World Travel Awards this year.
