DFDS Seaways enjoys strong start to 2009

DFDS Seaways has celebrated a strong opening to the year by launching a number of special offers and early-booking discounts.

The operator said that new promotions were being introduced as an "extra incentive" for customers to make bookings for ferry crossings in April, May and June this year.

If the discount offers prove popular, DFDS Seaways could see the success it enjoyed in January and February extended throughout 2009.

Andrew Crowe, the ferry operator's head of sales, said: "We have had a successful first two months of the year with strong booking levels and we are looking to continue this success throughout the year.

"By offering early booking discounts we are giving extra incentives to travel with DFDS Seaways and encouraging customers to book early for the very best prices."

The special offers relate to DFDS Seaways' themed mini-breaks, including the St Patrick's Day trip this month and a comedy cruise from Newcastle to Amsterdam departing on March 21st.

DFDS Seaways also operates ferry crossings from Harwich to Esbjerg and from Copenhagen to Oslo.
