DFDS Seaways has invited holidaymakers to shake off the effects of the freezing winter and look forward to spring by booking a ferry break to Amsterdam.
The company offers daily ferry crossings to Amsterdam from Newcastle, which set off from north-east England in the evening and arrive in the port of IJmuiden the following morning.
With return services offering two nights onboard a DFDS Seaways ferry, passengers can eat in the onboard restaurant, enjoy some entertainment, go shopping or even hit the casino.
People visiting Amsterdam in the spring can take advantage of the mild weather by taking a stroll along the city's canals or enjoying an alfresco meal.
Attractions in the Dutch capital include a Madame Tussauds museum, the Oudekerk and Westerkerk churches, the Anne Frank House and the Van Gogh Museum.
In addition to its route from Newcastle to Amsterdam, DFDS Seaways operates services from Harwich to Esbjerg and from Copenhagen to Oslo.
Ferry services to Holland are also available with Stena Line, which offers a route from Harwich to Hook of Holland, and P&O Ferries, which sails from Hull to Rotterdam.
