DFDS Seaways has announced that it will launch a new 1970s-themed mini-cruise on its Newcastle to Amsterdam ferry route this year.
Due to depart from Newcastle ferry port on October 1st, the special service will invite travellers to board the ship in afro wigs, aviator sunglasses and any other suitably outrageous accessories.
During the ferry crossing, passengers will be entertained by an Abba tribute band.
There will also be a dance competition to enter, while those who would prefer to take a back seat can try out the selection of "retro cocktails" that will be on offer at the bar.
The ship used to operate the
DFDS Seaways Newcastle to Amsterdam ferry route also offers facilities including restaurants, shops and a casino.
Once they arrive in Amsterdam following the North Sea crossing, travellers can take in sights including the city's selection of historic churches, its network of canals and museums such as the Anne Frank House.
