DFDS Seaways will be offering travellers the opportunity to set off on "pet-friendly holidays" this year on its Newcastle to Amsterdam and Harwich to Esbjerg ferry routes.
The operator said that going on holiday with a furry friend "has never been so simple" thanks to its pet travel programme.
A number of animals are eligible to travel under the scheme, including dogs, cats and even ferrets.
On the
DFDS Seaways Newcastle to Amsterdam ferry route, travellers can make use of onboard kennels, while on the Harwich to Esbjerg service animals can be kept in owners' cars.
The company stressed that foot passengers are not permitted to take pets onboard as animals cannot be brought onto the upper levels of the ship or into cabins.

DFDS Seaways can travel from Newcastle every day, with departures from the English port at 17:00.
The Esbjerg ferry service operates at least three times a week, leaving Harwich at 17:45 on alternating days.
