DFDS Seaways promotes Christmas breaks

People looking for some memorable festive experiences this year have been encouraged to take ferries to Amsterdam or Esbjerg with DFDS Seaways to enjoy a Christmas break.

One option is for holidaymakers to travel on the Harwich to Esbjerg ferry route and head to Copenhagen to experience the Dutch capital during the winter season.

The city's Tivoli Gardens are "at their most magical" during the Christmas period, according to DFDS Seaways, boasting attractions including an outdoor ice rink and a market.

Travellers can choose from three departures every week on the operator's Harwich to Esbjerg ferry route.

People who decide to use the company's Newcastle to Amsterdam ferry service can head to the Dutch capital's Museumplein, which turns into Christmas Square every December, featuring an ice rink, a festive fair and lights.

Taking a ferry to Amsterdam also provides the opportunity to visit other European destinations that are famous for their Christmas markets and seasonal attractions, such as Brussels, Cologne and Paris.
