DFDS Seaways has promoted its Harwich to Esbjerg ferry service, encouraging travellers to visit the destination described as "the gateway to Scandinavia".
The ferry operator announced that it was cutting fares on the route, offering savings of up to 20 per cent on selected ferry crossings during the summer.
Travellers depart Harwich at 18:00 and arrive in Denmark the next day, with the option of using facilities onboard the Dana Sirena such as restaurants, bars, shops and children's areas.
Upon arrival, people catching ferries to Esbjerg can visit local parks, museums and other attractions, or make the short drive to Billund to visit Legoland, one of Denmark's most popular amusement parks.
Return services on the Harwich to Esbjerg ferry route leave Denmark in the evening, arriving back in the UK the following morning.
DFDS Seaways also offers crossings from Copenhagen to Oslo for people wishing to continue their journey in Scandinavia, while those heading to mainland Europe from the UK can catch ferries to Amsterdam from Newcastle.
