DFDS Seaways has encouraged caravan owners to consider a ferry break this year, pointing out that it carries the vehicles on its routes to Holland and Denmark without any additional charges on certain days.
The company said that its services provide the opportunity to explore "breathtaking European and Scandinavian landscapes".
Caravan owners can travel on the Newcastle to Amsterdam ferry route and plot a route to some of the continent's most scenic cities, such as Rotterdam, Brussels and Cologne.
DFDS Seaways also highlighted the opportunities for camping holidays in France.
"The French love camping and France is renowned for its superb sites," the company stated.
People who choose to take ferries from Harwich to Esbjerg can explore picturesque Scandinavia, which DFDS Seaways described as "a real paradise for campers".
Travellers can visit the city of Ribe near Esbjerg or head further into Denmark to see Copenhagen, the country's vibrant capital city.

ferries from Newcastle to Amsterdam and up to four weekly crossings on the Harwich to Esbjerg ferry route during the summer months.
