DFDS Seaways promotes winter getaways

People planning a European getaway over the winter period have been encouraged to catch ferries to Amsterdam or Esbjerg with DFDS Seaways for some unique festive experiences.

There are all sorts of attractions on offer to holidaymakers visiting Europe, according to the ferry operator, from "magical markets and romantic river cruises" to memorable New Year's Eve parties.

Travellers who catch ferries to Esbjerg from Harwich with DFDS Seaways can explore Denmark and visit cities such as Odense and Copenhagen as they celebrate the festive season.

Another option is the Newcastle to Amsterdam ferry route, which offers the opportunity to experience the Dutch capital's famous end-of-year celebrations.

People visiting Holland over the Christmas period who catch return ferries to Newcastle on December 31st will be able to enjoy an onboard New Year's Eve gala featuring live entertainment, champagne and plenty of good food.

Other options for travellers planning a trip to Europe include Stena Line's ferries to Hook of Holland from Harwich and the LD Lines Portsmouth to Le Havre ferry route.
