DFDS Seaways this week treated two of its most loyal customers to a free Amsterdam ferry break to thank them for 33 years of commitment to the company.
Mr and Mrs Johnson have travelled with the operator more than 160 times since 1976, taking an average of five ferry trips a year.
To recognise their loyalty, the couple were given a certificate confirming them as
DFDS Seaways' most regular customers and an Amsterdam ferry break with Commodore class accommodation thrown in.
The trip will be made extra special by the fact that Mrs Johnson will be celebrating her 70th birthday in the Dutch capital.
John Crummie, UK managing director of
DFDS Seaways, said: "Mr and Mrs Johnson are officially our most loyal customers, even travelling 12 times in one year with us.
"I am so pleased that they enjoy their time with us. We pride ourselves on the onboard experience as well as customer service, and these are obviously aspects of travelling with
DFDS Seaways that the Johnsons enjoy."
In addition to its Newcastle to Amsterdam ferry service,
DFDS Seaways sails from Copenhagen to Oslo and provides ferries to Esbjerg from Harwich.
