DFDS Seaways to launch wildlife mini cruises

DFDS Seaways passengers will have the opportunity to see some impressive marine wildlife during some of the operator's ferry crossings from Newcastle to Amsterdam and Harwich to Esbjerg this year.

The company announced that it would be launching its Orca wildlife mini cruises this year following the popularity of the initiative on its Harwich to Esbjerg route in 2008.

DFDS Seaways has developed the cruises in partnership with the Orca whale and dolphin charity, representatives from which will be onboard the ferries during the wildlife trips.

Passengers will have the chance to see the broad range of animal life found in the North Sea, including dolphins, seals, porpoises, birds and even whales.

Orca wildlife cruises will operate from April 3rd to May 29th and then from September 2nd to October 30th on the DFDS Seaways route from Harwich to Esbjerg.

The experience will be on offer to people sailing from Newcastle to Amsterdam between April 3rd and September 28th.

DFDS Seaways also offers ferry crossings between the Scandinavian capitals of Oslo in Norway and Copenhagen in Denmark.
