DFDS Seaways has announced that it will offer the Orca wildlife mini-cruise on its Harwich to Esbjerg and Newcastle to Amsterdam ferry routes in April this year.
The launch of the special service on DFDS Seaways' ferries from Newcastle to Amsterdam follows its successful introduction on the route between Harwich and Esbjerg last year.
According to the ferry operator, both mini-cruises provide an experience that is "great fun for families and eco-interested travellers".
During the crossings, passengers will have opportunities to spot a variety of wildlife found in the North Sea, including dolphins, seabirds, porpoises, seals and even whales.
Representatives from Orca, a UK charity that studies marine mammals, will be onboard the ferry services to conduct research and give a presentation on what travellers can expect to see.
It was recently announced that DFDS Seaways is offering price cuts of up to 25 per cent on its Harwich to Esbjerg and Newcastle to Amsterdam ferry crossings for travel from the end of April.
