Rather than totally cancel your holiday or any chance of a holiday, why not hop over to France, Ireland or Spain by ferry? The ferry companies haven't hiked up prices because of the increased demand. Some companies, like LD lines, are even running special Christmas promotions. To book ferries online and find the cheapest prices you can use AFerry.co.uk. However, you are recommended to book early as many ferry operators are reporting greatly increased demand.
