Modern art enthusiasts planning to take ferries to Belgium in the future might be interested in visiting the Musee Magritte Museum, which was recently recognised at the British Guild of Travel Writers Members' Awards.
The Brussels museum was the runner-up in the overseas tourism category after being nominated by guild member Diana Bentley.
It is dedicated entirely to Rene Magritte, one of the world's most famous surrealist painters.
People with an interest in art can take ferries to Belgium to see paintings, photographs, drawings, posters and other pieces by Magritte spread over three floors.
Francois Scheepers, director of the Belgian Tourist Office, said: "We are really delighted that the museum was nominated for such a prestigious award, particularly since this is the second year running that a Brussels museum has been nominated for an award by the British Guild of Travel Writers.
"Brussels is the closest capital city to London and we know that the museum has received many UK visitors since opening at the beginning of last June."
People living in Scotland can take ferries to Zeebrugge from Rosyth with
Norfolkline, while those based in northern England can use the Hull to Zeebrugge ferry service provided by P&O Ferries.
For those in the south,
TransEuropa Ferries provides a Ramsgate to Ostend ferry link.
