Dublin Port reports 17% jump in ferry passengers
Dublin Ferry Port has reported a significant jump in the number of tourists using the ferry as a means of travel.
In its latest annual report, the company says tourist traffic was up 17% last year.
The increase marks a major turnaround for the sector following years of decline due to an increase in the availability of low-cost flights.
Overall, Dublin Port's operating profits increased by more than one-third last year to £25.5m.
