Ferries to Dublin and Dun Laoghaire will prove a popular option in July when a major sailing event is held.
People with a passion for sailing and all things maritime will be catching ferries to Dublin and Dun Laoghaire next month to attend Ireland's biggest regatta.
The 2009 Volvo Dun Laoghaire Regatta will be held from July 9th to 12th this year.
More than 500 boats come to the waters surrounding Dublin and Dun Laoghaire every two years for this event, which is one of Ireland's most popular sporting occasions.
Some 3,500 sailors are set to arrive on the east coast of Ireland for the regatta, docking their vessels in an 800-berth marina and enjoying Dublin's famous hospitality.
This year's races will be arranged in 25 different classes on nine courses.
People interested in visiting the Volvo Dun Laoghaire Regatta can catch direct ferries to Dun Laoghaire from Holyhead with
Stena Line.
Both
Irish Ferries and
Stena Line provide
ferries from Holyhead to Dublin, while P&O Ferries and
Norfolkline Irish Sea sail to the Irish capital from Liverpool.
