Enjoy St Patrick's Day in Dublin

Over 1.5 million people cram into the city for the annual Irish celebrations, with the main event taking place on March 17th.

Anyone who likes a big party will not want to miss out on the free party, which takes place all over the Irish capital and indeed all over Ireland.

Street performers, international bands, entertainers and merryment come to the city's streets, with the festival parade taking over three hours to complete.

O'Connell Street is the place to head for the main party, although events do take place in almost every pub throughout the city.

For the more cultural visitor there is also the opportunity to see great exhibitons on Irish history, shop in some of the city's boutiques and party among some of Europe's trendiest people and much more.

Any visitor to Dublin during the middle of March would be hard pressed not to have a good time.
