Enjoy a Jimi Hendrix tribute on Isle of Wight ferry breaks |  | | | 08 February 2010 | Rock 'n' roll fans will be able to catch ferries to the Isle of Wight this year to see a performance celebrating one of the genre's iconic figures.
It was recently confirmed that Jimi Hendrix tribute band Are You Experienced will open the Isle of Wight Festival this year to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the star's appearance at the event in 1970.
The 2010 Isle of Wight Festival will run from June 11th to 13th and tickets are on sale now.
People planning to attend can reach the island with Wightlink, which operates ferries to Ryde and Fishbourne from Portsmouth and also offers a Lymington to Yarmouth ferry service.
There will be plenty of other acts performing at the festival this year, including Jay-Z, the Strokes, Florence and the Machine, Blondie and many more.
Music fans will also be catching ferries to the Isle of Wight later in the year to attend Bestival, which will run from September 11th to 13th.
