Holidaymakers will be able to catch Isle of Wight ferries this year to experience what has been described as a "bumper summer" of festivals on the island.
The biggest and most popular event will be the famous Isle of Wight Festival, which will bring the Prodigy, Stereophonics, Neil Young, Razorlight and other artists to Seaclose Park in Newport from June 12th to 14th.
People with an interest in all things maritime should arrange Wightlink ferry crossings for the first week of August to attend Cowes Week.
Described as the world's biggest sailing regatta of its kind, this event sees a thousand boats and more than 100,000 spectators descend on Cowes from August 1st to 8th.
Travellers planning late summer trips to the Isle of Wight can see acts including Elbow and Massive Attack at Bestival from September 11th to 13th or test their stamina at the Bike the Wight cycling festival from September 19th to 27th.
Wightlink provides
ferries from Portsmouth to Fishbourne and Ryde and also operates a route linking Lymington to Yarmouth.
