Families planning a Dublin ferry trip during the October half-term break will be able to join in with some strange and spooky activities as the city celebrates Halloween.
One of the biggest events will be Hallowfest, which will be held in the south Dublin area on the Irish bank holiday weekend of October 25th and 26th.
Visitors will be able to have their faces painted, enjoy street entertainment, hear scary stories and see a fireworks display at the festival.
Stena Line provides ferries to Dun Laoghaire from Holyhead that offer easy access to south Dublin, as well as a direct Holyhead to Dublin ferry route.
Another event taking place in the Irish capital over the Halloween period is the Poe Show, a theatrical celebration of the writer Edgar Allan Poe, who was best-known for his mysterious and macabre stories.
Dublin visitors may also be interested in taking a journey back in time at Dalkey Castle and Heritage Centre, which offers a medieval experience featuring professional actors in period costumes, exhibitions and more.
Irish Ferries offers access to the city with its Holyhead to Dublin ferry route, while both P&O Ferries and
Norfolkline Irish Sea provide ferries to Dublin from Liverpool.
