While many Britons would like to marry overseas in a tropical location, it seems Europe offers the number one choice for nuptials outside the UK.
The latest Wedding Report from Confetti.co.uk has revealed that the continent is the top location for Britons, pushing the Caribbean into second, while places like North America, Africa and Indian Ocean destinations trail further behind.
It also found the majority of those marrying abroad come back and have a celebration in Britain, with the overall cost being much lower than a UK wedding.
"For many, hosting their big day abroad means that they can have the beautiful and romantic wedding of their dreams, but on a much smaller scale, which is a big help towards saving costs," said the site's overseas expert Joanne Diggle.
