Eurostar services cut back due to French strike

International train operator Eurostar has cancelled ten services in order to minimise disruption over the strike by public sector workers in France today and tomorrow.

Around 2,000 passengers have been moved onto other services as a result of today's six cancellations and tomorrow's four cancellations, a Eurostar spokesman told travelbite.co.uk.

However the company has warned the services that are running may be delayed or cancelled at short notice. It also advises all travellers not to travel if at all possible today, as there will be no public transport running in Paris and a very limited TGV trains service.

Today's cancelled services are the 6:22 and 17:43 from Paris to London, and the 9:09, 16:12, 17:40 from London to Paris.

The 16:39 train from London Waterloo to Brussels has also been cancelled.

Tomorrow, the 6:22 from Paris to London and the 7:05 from London to Brussels have been cancelled, along with the 7:05 and 17:05 Brussels to London services.

"Travellers booked on the above four trains who choose not to travel will be able to exchange their tickets for travel within the next 60 days. All ticket exchanges are subject to availability," Eurostar said in a statement.
