Experience Indonesia in Amsterdam | | | | 24 September 2008 | British tourists are currently in the unusual position of needing only to take ferry crossings to Amsterdam in order to experience life in modern-day Indonesia.
This prospect will only be on offer for another couple of months, however, as the Dutch capital's Tropenmuseum will be hosting the 24-Hour Indonesia exhibition until November 16th.
The display incorporates footage that was collected by cameras that were rolling at eight different sites across Indonesia.
Visitors will be given a unique perspective on daily life in locations including big cities, countryside villages, markets, schools, karaoke bars and football stadiums.
People who will be in Amsterdam from October 31st will be able to visit the Tropenmuseum as it hosts an exhibition exploring the voodoo culture in Haiti, featuring more than 250 objects taken from the prestigious Lehmann collection.
Ferry crossings to Amsterdam are available with DFDS Seaways, which sails to the Dutch port of IJmuiden from Newcastle on a daily basis. |
