Experience a major sporting event on Dublin ferry breaks

Experience a major sporting event on Dublin ferry breaks
There will be some unique sporting entertainment for people on Dublin ferry breaks to enjoy this autumn when the city hosts its annual marathon.

Celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, the Lifestyle Sports - adidas Dublin Marathon will be run through the Georgian streets of the Irish capital on October 26th.

People interested in seeing the impressive sporting spectacle can travel on the Holyhead to Dublin ferry route served by Irish Ferries and Stena Line or catch ferries to Dublin from Liverpool with P&O Ferries or Norfolkline Irish Sea.

Some 10,000 people are expected to take part in the race this year, more than half of whom will be runners from overseas.

The route begins at Fitzwilliam Street and passes through Fitzwilliam Place, continuing over the River Liffy and past locations including Phoenix Park and University College Dublin.

One of the most popular places for visitors to gather will be the finish line at Merrion Square North.

People interested in visiting Ireland can also catch ferries to Dun Laoghaire from Holyhead with Stena Line or use the Pembroke to Rosslare ferry route served by Irish Ferries.
