There has been no better time to book
ferries to Ireland than in 2012, as this year is packed with many great festivals and events.
Kicking off the year is the Temple Bar TradFest, which is a must see for any music fan. Running from January 25th-29th 2012, the event comprises more than 200 free festivities throughout Dublin, including Irish dancing, pipe bands and street performers. In addition, there will be two outdoor stages to ensure as many people as possible can join in the fun.
One of the highlights is sure to be the 100th anniversary of the Titanic, which is being marked in various ways throughout the country - and especially Belfast. The Titanic Belfast exhibition is set to open its doors on March 31st and documents everything about the ill-fated vessel, from its construction to the day it struck the iceberg.
On June 30th, a 14-month programme of events called the Land of Giants is to take place in Northern Ireland, which takes inspiration from a number of key figures throughout Ireland's history. Both modern and ancient figures will be celebrated through a range of mediums, including dance, music and pyrotechnics.
Looking to the summer, Cork Week Sailing Festival looks set to be as popular as ever this year. Billed as the largest regatta in Ireland, this year's outing is scheduled for July 7th-12th. It is held once every two years and hosted by the Royal Cork Yacht Club, with competitors turning up from all over the world to test out their skill. Festivities are also held on land for spectators, lasting throughout the day and well into the night.
Ferries to Ireland can be booked from a number of ports, with services run by a variety of companies including
