Falling Stena Line ferry fares good news for consumers
Those planning to book ferry travel in the near future will be glad to hear the news that leading ferry company Stena Line has slashed its fares, the latest move in an Irish Sea price war.
Stena Line has dropped its fares to England and is urging customers to book early online, with midweek web fares for a car plus driver. The company also claims to offer the best service on the Irish Sea and is really 'pushing the boat out' to prove its point with half price Stena Plus upgrades, which include access to the Stena Plus lounge and express boarding and disembarkation.
Stena Line Communications Manager, Eamonn Hewitt stresses the convenience of travelling with Stena Line.
"Stena Line offers the widest choice of routes and vessels on the Irish Sea. With the Stena Adventurer and HSS fastcraft, we are unrivalled for convenience and comfort and now with prices that are lower than last year, we offering even more value than usual," said Eamonn.
"Many people assume that flying is the cheapest option but this is not always the case. Travelling by ferry offers the convenience of bringing your own car, allowing passengers to save on parking and car hire, hidden costs that many people don't consider when booking with the no-frills airlines. Of course there is also no shortage of legroom with us and you don't have to worry about baggage restrictions- just pack up the car and go!
"We would urge those who are currently making plans for travel to Britain to see what Stena Line can offer when compared to the no-frills airlines and other ferry operators," he added.
Bookings must be made a minimum of 14 days in advance for travel from Rosslare, Dublin Port and Dun Laoghaire and 28 days in advance from Belfast. Travel must be booked by January 31 2006 for Stena Line crossings up to April 6.
