Family groups planning to catch cheap ferries to and from Portsmouth for February half-term will be able to pay a visit to the Historic Dockyard during their trips to attend a number of events.
The dockyard boasts six separate attractions for the price of one and offers an exploration of 800 years of naval history.
On February 19th, visitors will be able to take part in activities on HMS Victory to learn more about life on the ship and make replicas of objects found on the vessel, which children can take home with them.
HMS Warrior 1860 will be the centre of attention on February 17th and 18th as it hosts code-cracking days allowing visitors to take on the identity of a secret agent and send coded messages to friends and family.
Other attractions at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard include the Royal Naval Museum, the Mary Rose Museum and the Action Stations area, which boasts 27 interactive exhibits including a replica Merlin helicopter.
Portsmouth ferry port hosts services from a number of operators, including
Brittany Ferries, which sails to Caen and Cherbourg in the summer and St Malo throughout the year.
LD Lines and
Condor Ferries also offer ferry crossings to northern France from Portsmouth, while P&O Ferries operates a service to Bilbao, Spain in the summer and Wightlink sails to Fishbourne and Ryde on the Isle of Wight.
