This week will see a new fast craft service launched by the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company on its Douglas to Liverpool ferry route.
March 27th will be the first day of the new crossing, which will be operated by Snaefell following a refurbishment of some of the ship's facilities.
Travellers catching the ferry from Liverpool will also be able to make use of improved facilities at the port following recent development, including a new car marshalling zone, passenger lounge and baggage claim area.
An added benefit for many passengers on the new service will be its no-smoking policy in all areas including the outside decks.
Mark Woodward, chief executive of the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company, said: "We have carried out some improvements to Snaefell and look forward to the arrival of our new vessel, Manannan, in May. The new facilities at Liverpool will also go some way to enhancing the service for passengers.
"The start of the fast craft season, coupled with the forthcoming arrival of Manannan, provides us with the opportunity to change our policy on smoking on-board fast craft."
The Steam Packet Company announced recently that it will offer an extra return sailing on the Douglas to Liverpool ferry route on April 9th to cater for higher demand over the Easter period.
