Belgium has always been a popular travel destination for UK tourists and regular ferry crossings make it an easy country to visit.
According to a spokeswoman for ABTA - The Travel Association, Belgium is particularly popular among those seeking short city breaks.
Indeed, travellers can not only spend a weekend exploring the capital Brussels, but they can also spend time in cities such as Antwerp, Bruges and Ghent.
"Certainly Belgium is very accessible and it always has been quite a popular destination," said the representative.
"In terms of accessibility, you have not only got ferries but also the Eurostar, and people are looking more now, as alternatives to try."
Ferries to Belgium are available from the UK port of Hull to Zeebrugge in Belgium with
P&O Ferries, while
TransEuropa Ferries and
LD Lines are due to begin a Ramsgate to Ostend route in March 27th.
Eurostar bookings to Brussels are coming to AFerry.co.uk soon.
