Plans to re-start ferry crossings from Anglesey to the mainland will be discussed in a series of public meetings as part of proposals to boost marine tourism on the isle.
The last ferry service to the island ended in 1976 and the new offering, which would be marketed as a "water shuttle", would serve as an alternative to the Menai Suspension Bridge.
Anglesey Council is hoping to receive funding from Europe for its plans to resurrect the ferry crossings, and local people are enthusiastic about the scheme's potential to attract more visitors from the mainland.
"I think this sort of facility is much needed for the area," Glenys Tematema, who runs a tourism kiosk on Bangor, told the Bangor and Anglesey Mail.
She added: "It could be something residents could enjoy too, not just visitors and students."
The Menai Suspension Bridge, completed in 1826, was designed by celebrated civil engineer Thomas Telford as the first modern suspension bridge of its type in the world.
