Holidaymakers who have booked flights to Antigua will be pleased to learn of a new ferry service linking the island with neighbouring Montserrat.
The permanent service will allow greater numbers of people to visit the Caribbean island once it takes effect tomorrow (December 2nd).
Ferries will initially run three times a week before increasing to a daily service on December 7th, with boats leaving Montserrat early in the morning and returning late in the afternoon.
Director of tourism at the Montserrat Tourist Board Ernestine Cassel said she is "delighted" that the permanent ferry service is about to begin, and that it will "play a vital role" in the island's growing tourism industry.
"Montserrat has a way of charming its visitors like no other Caribbean island and now access is even easier, we hope more people will be encouraged to come and discover the Emerald Isle of the Caribbean," she commented.
Travellers looking to arrive in Montserrat can always fly there, with the island's international airport having reopened in 2005.
