Finnlines new generation ropax vessels into service
four times weekly from Travemünde to Helsinki in only 27 hours, starting 16.9 2006
The new, fast ropax vessels MS Finnstar and MS Finnmaid have joined the Finnlines fleet and started service on the Travemünde - Helsinki route. Alongside with these new ships, the combi-roro vessels MS Finnhansa, MS Finnpartner and MS Transeuropa will continue operating on the route.
For our customers the new vessels will offer a much faster connection between Germany and Finland than before, as the transit time between Travemünde and Helsinki will shorten by 9 hours from present 36 to 27 hours. Each vessel's cargo capacity is 4,200 lane metres, which is notably more than today.
As from 16 September 2006, Finnlines will be offering you altogether 9 sailings a week on the Travemünde - Helsinki route, of which 4 are fast ones. Finnlines is promoting the smooth flow of unit services by enhancing ships' timetables in accordance with customers' demands.
In addition to daily connections, there is a further sailing from Helsinki to Travemünde on Tuesdays and Fridays. At weekends, you will have several sailings from Travemünde to Helsinki to choose from: Friday evening, early Saturday morning, Sundays early in the morning and in the afternoon. On Saturdays we will also offer you a ro-ro sailing from Lübeck to Helsinki.
Our services between Turku and Travemünde, and from Kotka, Kemi, and Oulu to Lübeck will remain unchanged.
