Fjord Line accuses Color Line of dumping
Bergen-based passenger/car ferry operator Fjord Line maintains that Color Line is trying to drive them out of the market by illegal means, like distributing free tickets on the route from Bergen, via Stavanger to Denmark, according to the managing director of Fjord Line, Ove Solem.
And he continues in an interview with Bergen newspaper Bergens Tidende: "We have calculated that Color line will lose NOK 83.0 million on the Bergen, Stavanger to Hirtshals route in the first year of operation.
The loss after eight months operation will be around NOK 100 million. We believe that Color Line went into the Western Norwegian market just to get rid of us".
Fjord Line has earlier lodged allegations at the Norwegian Competition Authorities (NCA), but now feels that Color Line has done nothing to clear themselves of these allegations of unfair trading and that the NCA has not done their job properly.
