France remains a "desirable, good-value holiday spot" despite the drastic fall in value of the pound against the euro, according to the Daily Telegraph.
In a new holiday guide to France, the newspaper said that one of the country's main attributes is its ease of access, with cross channel ferries provided by the likes of LD Lines,
Brittany Ferries, Seafrance and P&O Ferries.
To keep costs down, the best option is to travel on a short cross channel route, according to the Telegraph, such as the Dover to Calais ferry crossing or the forthcoming LD Lines service from Dover to Boulogne.
Holidaymakers planning a ferry trip to France were also advised to book well in advance and be willing to travel at antisocial hours if they want to get the lowest prices.
Those who are undecided on their exact holiday destination were given the recommendations of Normandy, Brittany and the Loire Valley, which the Telegraph described as "some of France's most rewarding regions".
People planning to drive to more distant regions such as Provence could see lower expenses this year as petrol prices have fallen in France since last summer.
