The national tourist office of Germany has encouraged travellers planning to visit the country this year to catch
ferries from Harwich to Hook of Holland with
Stena Line.
In its latest newsletter, the tourist board informed holidaymakers that they can reach the border of Germany in just three hours following the ferry crossing from Harwich to Hook of Holland.
As well as easy access to Germany, ferry crossings provide other benefits that are not available to air travellers.
"Travelling by ferry means no luggage restrictions, fast and hassle-free check-in and a relaxing and spacious crossing," the tourist office said in its newsletter.
Stena Line operates early morning
ferries from Harwich to Hook of Holland as well as an overnight service, with onboard facilities including restaurants, bars, a cinema and retail outlets.
The company also provides
ferries from Holyhead to Dublin and from Stranraer to Belfast.
